"lonestranger" (lonestranger)

If you've been following along, I designed some custom graphics for the PS4's DualShock 4 controllers. There's !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

After !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! which ones to make for real, I sent the wrap design to !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and the light bar decal design to !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . For the Martini one, I wanted an all-white background where the skin wouldn't have covered. So, I took a brand-new controller apart and !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! & clearcoated the top piece.

For the "Pink Pig" one, I wasn't so concerned with the background colour, but if you can read German you'll notice that the pork cuts are as anatomically accurate as they are on !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! of Reinhold Jöst and Willi Kauhsen.

The level of detail reproduced in the skins is excellent. I'm glad that I chose to submit an image 4096 pixels wide (and even scratch-made the sponsor logos at a higher resolution), because any pixelation or errors in the digital image would've shown up in the physical skin.
The light bar decals are obviously influenced by the colour of the light bar. For that reason, I left the "Lonestranger" decal clear white, and had only the Martini International Club logo left in colour. Here is is when the light is white:

I could have, but deliberately chose not to for two reasons: form & function.
Form: I don't think that an all-white canvas is required in this instance. Since I'm imitating a car with windows, wheels, tires, undercarriage, etc., painting only the top/front piece white is fine. All-white would've been okay, but I preferred the contrast of the white/black.
Function: spraypaint isn't a perfect medium for something that is constantly being held in the hand. Even with a proper curing times and a clearcoat, it can get soft and kind-of sticky. Also, the DS4's rear/bottom piece is textured for a nice grip, and I wanted to keep that feature.

Where did you find the template? I checked the Web site and couldn't find it. As for the pics, what did you use to edit them? Sorry for the noob questions

Since GelaSkins recently changed their name to Nuvango, they changed things around quite a bit. The templates are gone, and they don't seem to even have controller skins anymore.
I created the images in GIMP.
